I’m Jessica Ali, a Registered Holistic Nutritional Consultant (RHN). I am proudly born and raised on the South Shore. Growing up I had a full household, my Mom, Dad, Sister, Grandmother, 2 dogs, 2 cats and an ever changing family of pet rodents we kept in the basement. My Dad owned a pizza shop for a lot of my childhood in which I started dishwashing for a loonie an hour. My mom is a medical secretary; this is where my anatomy vocabulary blossomed. My grandmother is a baker, always keeping the bread box full of cookies, muffins and fresh rolls.
As far back as I can remember, I had an interest in how the body worked. As a child I watched my immediate family experience chronic health conditions such as cancer, heart attack and auto-immune disease. I wanted to help them in the best way I could and since they were already receiving conventional healthcare, this is where my passion with holistic health started.
My love for helping people was so strong, I quickly realized that this was going to be my career. After a lot of research, I found my school, Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. I can’t say enough great things about this program. It has changed my life in so many ways. I graduated in 2018 as a Holistic Nutritionist and continue to self-study, ensuring that I am using the most up to date available research and evidence to best serve my clients. I have a particular interest in digestive disorders, senior nutrition, eczema/dermatitis and women’s health. I love my work and I am sincerely committed to helping others improve their health at any age.
My partner, Patrick, is my biggest fan. He listens to me talk on and on about food, tries all my recipes and has even changed his eating habits. Now we live in Sunnybrook, Mahone Bay with our dog Luka and 2 cats Polly & Esther. Aside from waitressing at Rebecca’s and teaching others about holistic nutrition, in my spare time I enjoy running, yoga and sailing.
If you are interested in making small but impactful changes to your health, reach out to me, I want to hear from you. I offer in person and online consultations along with meal planning. I’d be pleased to help you on your health journey.
